Joe Wert, President
Joe Wert brings to Iron Gate Build and Design over 18 years of experience in the new and custom home building industry. Joe takes pride in designing and building gorgeous custom homes for his clients. He began his career in the industry as a Construction Manager to Field Project Manager to the operational side as Vice President of Purchasing/Estimating/Design in four of the nation’s top ten home building firms.  Throughout his career, Joe has developed construction guideline manuals, training manuals and scopes of work which industry experts have used in order to train employees. He is well versed in the complete circle of the home building process from conceptual design layout to construction completion. Joe has created, budgeted and set-up thousands of new home starts via design, estimation and cost analysis. He stays active in the industry by affiliating himself with the Greater Houston Builders Association, National Association of Home Builders, Texas Association of Builders, Environments for Living, Energy Star, Green Building Initiative and Building Science Corporation led by renown building expert Joseph Lstiburek (PH.D., P. Eng.). Joe’s contributions and expertise earned him one of the prestigious Top Purchasing Executive awards by “Professional Builder” magazine in 2007!

Alex I. Rodriguez, AIBD, TIBD
Alex has over 17 years of experience designing hundreds of new homes for several of Houston’s largest homebuilders as well custom homes for our clients.  His many educational accolades include being a member of Phi Theta Kappa Honors Society and receiving his Degree in “Architectural Design Technology” with the highest of honors. In addition to designing custom homes, Alex currently teaches classes at Houston Community College in Drafting and 3-D Design.
Alex’s drawings are superb, balancing cultural and practical implication of building with knowledge and skill.  Alex is one of very few designers in the industry who are proficient in 3-D design.  All of Alex’s current drawings are created in 3-D using AutoCAD Architectural 2009 software. The power of illustrative drawings maximizes our client’s understanding of the design and construction process. Iron Gate clients appreciate Alex’s abstract thinking when creating their new home. He provides balance, a sense of scale and unimaginable creativity to each design. He is a trendsetter in the custom home building market, introducing the latest cutting edge designs and ideas to our clients.  Not only does he craft awe-inspiring designs, he also produces “true working” drawings. Some design firms create the concept/drawings but leave the structural design and layout to a third party engineer.
